With Carbon Voice, you can also easily start a conversation with anyone, anywhere, with just their email or phone number, even if they don’t use Carbon Voice yet.

How to send someone who doesn’t use Carbon Voice yet a Carbon Voice message

  1. From Home screen: Tap the “+” icon on the bottom of the Home screen and choose “New Conversation”.
  2. Choose if you want to send a Direct Message or create a Named Conversation and specify which workspace you’d like to create the Conversation in, if you’d like. If no Workspace is specified, you’ll find your conversation in your Personal workspace.
  3. Enter the email or phone number of the person you’d like to send a message to. If your Conversation is part of a workspace, you can add someone who is not a workspace member to a conversation as a Guest.

Note: Direct Messages are persistent private conversation with a consistent set of people. Named Conversations can be private or joinable by others in a Workspace. You can add or remove people over time to the Conversation so they get access to the history of the discussion. Identify the Conversation with a personalized name and icon for the topic, project, or theme. Learn more about Direct Messages and Named Conversations here.
